Toronto, August 7, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced it is welcoming Kelly Wilhelm to its executive team. Wilhelm will take on the newly created role of Chief Strategy Officer. Reporting directly and acting in an advisory capacity to Valerie Creighton, CMF’s President and CEO, Wilhelm is tasked with contributing to setting the future trajectory of the CMF, with a specific focus on innovation through the lens of industry-wide disruption and opportunities for growth.

Montreal, February 26, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund today launched a French-language podcast series of six episodes that probe as many trends that are currently reshaping the media and entertainment industries. Futur et médias is an opportunity for listeners to better grasp the issues of the hour in these sectors through in-depth interviews with leading experts. Its first season will explore the following themes: digital distribution, podcasting, the blockchain, location-based virtual reality, youth content and data.

The podcast will include in-depth interviews with experts providing a closer look at emerging trends, as well as the digital transformation of the media and entertainment industry. Now & Next is produced by the Canada Media Fund and hosted by digital media researcher and experienced radio personality, Leora Kornfeld.

The event brought together parliamentarians; the on-and off-screen talent behind several Canadian productions; as well as broadcasters, audiovisual industry leaders and members of the public service.
