Toronto, August 28, 2017 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) released today its bilingual annual report for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. The report details the various programs and initiatives the CMF undertook in the past year to support Canada’s audiovisual industry. The results of the CMF funding programs, as well as its extensive research and promotional initiatives serve as clear examples of the key role the organization plays as a driver of Canada’s growing digital economy and supporter of our nation’s cultural diversity.

Toronto, August 25, 2017 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today an investment of $5.5M to 14 convergent projects that applied for funding through the 2017-2018 English Point-of-View (POV) Program. The English POV Program is designed to encourage one-off point-of-view documentary production in the English-language market.

Toronto/Bogotá, August 24, 2017 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF), Proimágenes Colombia (Proimágenes) and MinTIC (Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia) announced today results of their codevelopment financing incentive of nearly $300,000 for four interactive digital media projects through the Canada-Colombia Codevelopment Incentive for Web Series and Other Digital Media Projects.

Cologne DE, August 23, 2017 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), the body responsible for film funding and media business development in the German states of Berlin and Brandenburg, announced today an agreement to establish an incentive for the codevelopment and coproduction of digital media projects between Canadian producers and German producers based in Berlin-Brandenburg.

Toronto, August 16, 2017 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Jerusalem Film Fund at the Jerusalem Development Authority have introduced digital media projects in the drama genre to the list of projects eligible for funding through the Canada-Jerusalem Codevelopment and Coproduction Incentive. The deadline to submit an application to this program remains unchanged: October 19, 2017.
