Envelope Management
The envelope management tools have been created to assist broadcasters.
- Envelope Funds Exchange: for broadcasters who do not belong to the same corporate group, but wish to exchange funds with other broadcasters.
- Flex Usage Authorization: used to authorize flex transfers whenever a genre allocation is oversubscribed.
For more information on envelope transfers and exchanges, refer to section F.2 of the Performance Envelope Manual.
Envelope tracking tools are spreadsheets designed to assist broadcasters in monitoring their envelope usage. The tools can help broadcasters keep track of such things as overall envelope commitments, commitments by genre, affiliated programming commitments, licence fees paid, and licence fees paid as a percentage of eligible costs by genre and project category. A version of the form also exists for educational broadcasters who have 100% flex envelopes.
Broadcaster Agreement Forms
The Broadcaster Agreement Form (BAF) allows broadcasters to authorize a producer to apply a portion of that broadcaster’s funding envelope to a given project. BAFs are an essential component of the documentation required for all project applications.
