Logos

The logo of the Canada Media Fund was designed to visually articulate the organization’s role in the industry. It uses the following elements to convey its message:

Shape: The square represents a screen, calling to mind the television and digital media industries. The position of the text, on each side of the screen, gives the impression of the CMF giving support to the industry.
Division: The square is divided into the pixels found on digital displays: most screens rely on this fusion of small pixels to create a digital image. Figuratively, the pixels represent all the different disciplines and genres that make up the industry supported by the CMF. It also speaks to the variety of CMF programs and genres, and also to the diversity of its stakeholders, from producers, broadcasters, and distributors to its funding contributors and the Canadian public.
Colour: Orange is a warm and dynamic colour that stimulates creativity and enthusiasm. The changing gradient of shades suggests an upward movement, reinforcing the CMF’s objective to raise the presence of Canadian content on screen.
